Artichoke Painting

I am very happy with this painting. It is easy to get lost in all the petals when painting artichokes, and I didn't this time. I grew this artichoke myself and so was able to add the leaves which are very elegant and sculptural and really make the plant work as a painting. I hope to grow a wider variety of artichokes next year. They are easy to grow and really very beautiful. I didn't eat it; It got all dried out as it was being painted.
